Description

Coarse Cell Size PMI Structural Foam
Rifeng WH is a closed-cell rigid foam based on Polymethacrylimide (PMI) polymer, that is completely free of CFC's. It features a Coarse Cell Size. Excellent machinability and superior surface adhesion make it an ideal sandwich structure core material, ensuring exceptional fastness when combined with composite skins.

Rifeng WH has been designed for use primarily in aerospace applications. Its outstanding properties make it an ideal material solution for aircraft components, including stringer structures in pressure bulkheads. This structural foam is also suitable for helicopter applications and is frequently used in the main and tail rotor blades, as well as fuselage panels.

Processing and Production
Rifeng WH core makes it possible to produce sandwich components in a single step (co-curing), resulting in reduced overall production time. Standard WH can withstand curing temperatures up to 130 °C and pressures up to 0.7 MPa. After heat treatment, Rifeng WH-HT can even be used at curing temperatures of 180 °C and at pressures of 0.7 MPa. It is highly suited to autoclave technologies and vacuum infusion processes, including RTM and VARTM.

Superior Adhesion and Weight Saving
When building composite sandwich components, lightweight Rifeng WH has a closed cell structure that ensures the resin stays exactly in the interface. This eliminates excess and unnecessary resin that adds undesirable weight to the finished part. The Coarse Cell Size further enhances mechanical interlocking for superior peel strength.

Thermoforming and Shaping
Rifeng WH can be easily thermoformed or CNC machined to meet customer requirements. High precision, pre-shaped and ready-to-use foam cores in simple or complex geometries can also be supplied by us.
